This past weekend, I had an awesome experience at Queen Margarita Pizza. I went for dinner and enjoyed their PRIX FIXE menu option. With this you get to choose one appetizer, one pizza and a dessert, for only $30! This is the perfect pizza spot to bring somebody with a gluten allergy as well. There are many gluten-free options that are actually tasty. Here are a few of the items that I tried from QMP , all of which were amazing. The restaurant is very spacious and would be great for a holiday party with friends and family. APPERTIZERS
Grilled Kale Whipped Ricotta, Fried Chillies, Parmigiano, Pine Nuts
Beef Carpaccio Asparagus, Lemon, Pine Nuts, Parmigiano
Monday evening, I discovered a true hidden gem on Yorkville Ave in Toronto. Blu Ristorante and Lounge is a fantastic place for modern Italian food. They offer two separate dinner menus. One is a regular dinner menu with a wide variety of antipasti, salad, pasta, meat and fish to choose from. The second menu that Blu offers is The Five Course Chef’s Tasting Menu. This is a prefixed menu that can be done as is, or can be done as a pairing with some of their best wines. They also offer a group event prefix menu, depending on how much you are looking to spend per person. This is definitely a venue to consider for any upcoming holiday function, meeting, birthday or anniversary. All the staff at Blu Ristorante are extremely helpful and friendly, always making sure we were well looked after.
There is honestly something for everyone on the menu at Blu. The menu accommodates all carnivores, vegetarians and even your most picky eater. With a large selection, they even offer gluten free alternatives. Gluten Free Rice Pasta or Quinoa Fusilli are available by request.
Below are a variety of items, which you have to give a try.
Old School Diner is a fun, retro and very American spot located @ 800 Dundas St., Toronto. This is a great place to go if you feel like eating unhealthy, delicious breakfast food. It was very difficult to order here because everything sounded so amazing. We then decided to ask the waitress which was the most popular menu items, and decided from there. My date and myself had decided on two different choices that we were both so happy with!
The portions were so big we could have shared and the pancakes were cooked to perfection. The sugar smoked bacon was defiantly worth adding to my meal because it was to.die.for! Prices are pretty reasonable, Old School Diner is defiantly worth a try. Apparently Saturday mornings are not super busy, there were tons of tables available. We had a great server who was very helpful and efficient.
All of the food is super yummy, but crazy unhealthy….Starting a diet so probably won’t head back here until I feel like being fat again.
